Michigan Recreational Sports is a division of Student Life at the University of Michigan that promotes active, balanced lifestyles through inclusive fitness and wellness programs. With three major facilities, the organization offers intramural and club sports, group fitness, outdoor adventures, and more—fostering community, leadership, and well-being through recreation.
Objective
Led a creative student team to develop marketing strategies that boosted campus engagement and strengthened Rec Sports’ digital and event presence through content planning, brand alignment, and cross-team coordination.
Execution
-Led a team of 10+ by delegating tasks, setting deadlines, and fostering collaboration to create impactful marketing materials.
-Created engaging and on-brand marketing content across platforms, including social media posts, event promotions, and print materials.
-Coordinated with internal departments and external partners to address marketing requests and uphold brand identity.

Rec Sports Expo T-Shirt Design
Designed t-shirts for the 2023 Rec Sports Expo, distributed to all event attendees.
The design featured positive wellness affirmations and the Michigan “Wellness Wheel”—a model highlighting eight interconnected dimensions of well-being: physical, emotional, intellectual, occupational, social, spiritual, financial, and environmental. This widely recognized symbol promotes holistic wellness and is frequently seen around campus.
Results
-Managed the marketing team’s content calendar, resulting in a 65% increase in Instagram engagement.
-Planned and executed the annual Rec Sports Expo with 1,200+ attendees to promote campus Recreational Sports programs.
-Expanded social media reach, achieving 67,172 Instagram impressions in 90 days.
